Daddy's back

Jacob came home from the field today after being gone for over two weeks. He was worried that after being gone for almost a quarter of Sydni's life that she wouldn't remember him. When I placed her in his arms she didn't really seem to care either way. But once he began to speak she couldn't stop grinning. Jacob was relieved and amused. Within seconds she once again had him wrapped around her tiny little finger and all was well in the world. And of course I had to get her all gussied up to see her dad. My poor little fashion victim, if she only knew the things I have in store for her. Til next time....

Random sweetness

Sorry about the annoying sound of the camera trying to focus, oh yeah, and the sound of my voice. Baby talk is so embarassing, but at least it gets the cutest reactions, right?

Finally

Well a lot has happened since my last post. Sydni Alana was born on October 16th, 2007 at 10:56am. She was birthed via cesarian because, well, she was just so stubborn she wanted to stay breech. She weighed in at 6lbs 14oz. I waited in silent anticipation to meet her for about ten minutes after the doctors retrieved her from the womb. Her cries filled the operation room and suddenly my life had a whole new meaning. I was a mother. Jacob, her father, finally brought her over to me as I lay on the table in silence. He brushed her face to mine and tears welled up in my eyes. I will never forget the first time we met. She seemed uneasy and a little pissed off, but it would not be long until I would hold her and reassure her that even though she was unsure of the new world surrounding her, I would always be there to provide comfort and security. Within minutes the doctors lifted me from the table onto a bed, I could not move my legs. Once I was secured I embraced my daughter for the first time. As I held her she let little rambling noises bubble out from her sweet mouth. For the first day she would chatter constantly in her own baby speak. She must have had some understanding of happiness because she smiled on that first day with us and she has not stopped smiling since.

Picture...

Me at about 32 weeks.

Welcome

Hey everyone!

If you're here then you must have some interest in our new teeny tiny family member! Thanks for being involved! I wanted to create a place that can be a convenient source of baby updates for family and friends. I know, not everyone has Myspace. Hopefully this goes well. I'm not sure how much time we'll have to keep it current right after Sydni Alana is born, but we'll do our best. Things you can expect to see here are... well, the obvious: First diaper content pictures, first words, first steps, blah blah blah.

Please enjoy, send me requests, be disappointed when I don't respond (just kidding)...
Feel the love.

Sincerely,
Cassidy
